For Booster And DAS Installers

Feed The Booster The Best Cell, Then Keep It There.

A booster or a DAS can only share what its donor antenna brings in from the roof. SOCA aims the donor on twelve measurements and re-aims it from a desk when the network moves.

What Changes For The Donor

  • The donor is aimed on twelve measurements, not on a meter and a guess.
  • Signal strength, quality and band are logged at every position, so the design can be checked against what the roof actually gets.
  • When the operator changes the cell the donor was pointed at, you re-aim it from a desk.

What Cellular Path Publishes It For

Cellular Path publishes the Smart model for SISO antennas, boosters and distributed antenna systems: one coax run to a directional yagi or log periodic. That is the manufacturer's description of its own product, not a statement about any UK installation.

Which Model

SOCA-01-T-4G50 Smart 4G is the donor model. It carries its own modem, so it measures the signal for itself. Where a router Cellular Path has verified already feeds the site, SOCA-02 No Modem does the same job on that router's readings.

The UK Rules, Plainly

A mobile repeater transmits. A static indoor repeater may be used here without a licence only where it meets the Wireless Telegraphy (Mobile Repeater) (Exemption) Regulations 2022 and Ofcom's Interface Requirement IR 2102. Larger in-building systems are deployed with the mobile network operators' agreement instead.

SOCA aims the antenna. It is not a repeater and it does not make an unlawful one lawful. Check the UK rules and your booster's own requirements before you quote.

What It Means For You

  • Logged readings to hand over with the job, so the customer sees what the roof gets.
  • A re-aim from your desk when the operator changes the cell, instead of a return visit.
